The fundamental pillar of the Association’s agenda is lobbying Czech and EU authorities to benefit independent media through financial support and the preservation of free speech. Another aspect of the agenda centres on discussions with technological platforms concerning the rules for sharing published content and restrictions on advertising by publishers. The Association of Online Publishers aims to support a diverse Czech media environment. The Association views a diverse media as a fundamental element of a democratic state. The Association actively calls for the preservation of freedom of speech as defined in the Charter of Fundamental Rights and Freedoms of the Constitution of the Czech Republic. The members of the Association of Online Publishers actively express their opinions on issues impacting their businesses. The Association negotiates directly with all organisations impacting the media market. The publishers of the Association facilitate internships for students based on the field of study and the students’ and the publisher’s preferences.
