Association for Film and Audiovisual Education

The Association for Film and Audiovisual Education was founded in 2017, bringing together organisations and schools active in the area of film education, as well as individuals – professionals, educators, lecturers, and experts – who know how to teach children and young people about film. The Association’s activities emerged from the work of the informal Working Group for the Support of Film and Audiovisual Education, in existence since 2014. The Association supports the development of film and audiovisual education as both an academic subject and a leisure activity. It aims to increase awareness of film and audiovisual education in the Czech Republic, improve the conditions for implementing the discipline of film/audiovisual education in Czech schools and film activities in formal and informal education, deepen interdepartmental and interdisciplinary dialogue concerning film education, and contribute to the creation of detailed conceptual documents leading to heightened and systematic support for film and audiovisual education in the Czech Republic.

It aims to function as an open platform: a “base camp” for anyone interested in the collective planning and functioning of Prague. CAMP houses an exhibition hall with a unique, 25-metre projection screen, a study area with a wide selection of publications about architecture, urban planning, and design, a cafe with an outdoor terrace, and a lecture hall with a rich program composed of public discussions, appearances by domestic and foreign experts, workshops, film screenings, art workshops for children, and other activities. CAMP runs the map application Praha zítra? CAMP is part of the Prague Institute of Planning and Development (IPR Prague).

Based in Strážnice, the Institute maintains 45 hectares of green space and 99 buildings. Seven of these are protected heritage sites, including the chateau, the chateau park, the Black Gate, and the Open‑Air Museum of the Village of South‑East Moravia. PLATFORM of Czech Independent Sound Recording Producers

The PLATFORM of Independent Czech Sound Recording Producers was founded in 2011 independent sound recording producers’ response to developments in the field of collective rights management. A large number of small, independent entities were unable to address their claims and demands – which often conflicted with the goals of a unified and powerful group of large multinational publishers – on an individual basis. Since its inception, Platform has endeavored to advance its members’ interests, especially in the areas of collective rights management and the distribution of sound recordings. In 2017, Platform joined the international organisation IMPALA (Independent Music Companies Association) and represents its members’ interests on the European and global levels, thus accessing knowledge of the music market from across Europe and allowing members to draw on experience and information from the greatest experts in the field. We are currently participating in a series of negotiations on new European legislation related to intellectual property, copyright, and the rights of producers and performing artists.
