PLATFORM of Czech Independent Sound Recording Producers
The PLATFORM of Independent Czech Sound Recording Producers was founded in 2011 independent sound recording producers’ response to developments in the field of collective rights management. A large number of small, independent entities were unable to address their claims and demands – which often conflicted with the goals of a unified and powerful group of large multinational publishers – on an individual basis. Since its inception, Platform has endeavored to advance its members’ interests, especially in the areas of collective rights management and the distribution of sound recordings. In 2017, Platform joined the international organisation IMPALA (Independent Music Companies Association) and represents its members’ interests on the European and global levels, thus accessing knowledge of the music market from across Europe and allowing members to draw on experience and information from the greatest experts in the field. We are currently participating in a series of negotiations on new European legislation related to intellectual property, copyright, and the rights of producers and performing artists.
